A thief in Lagos, Nigeria, Narrowly escaped death after he jumped in to a Lagoon in an attempt to escape after snatching a phone (VIDEO)

Today Friday, the 15th of February, 2019 a suspected thief in Lagos who could not swim, snatched a phone from a passenger in traffic and impulsively jumped into the Lagos lagoon in an attempt to escape.
After he couldn’t swim when he landed into the Lagoon, he cried out for help and was rescued by passersby.
The stolen phone was recovered from him.
Ashamed of his act, the thief asked that he should be thrown back into the lagoon but the people refused to throw him into the Lagoon or execute jungle justice.
The thief has been handed over to the police.
