2 dead and 11 critically injured in a shooting incident at Christmas market in Strasbourg (PICTURES)

At least 2 people have died and 11 people are critically injured after gun man open fire close to a Christmas market in Strasbourg, France.

According to multiple reliable sources, the shooting incident happened close to a Christmas market in the central square of Strasbourg, Place Kleber. It is not yet clear if there was any link to a terrorist group.

However police report that they know the identity of the gunman and are desperately trying to track him down.

Meanwhile, The French Interior Ministry has called on the public to remain indoors following the shooting.
